In jackets with a down lining, it is common for a number of feathers to come through, especially in the beginning. In combination with heat and friction, springs can easily ‘pierce’ through the material. You should be able to tuck or remove these springs. Because of this and wearing the jacket, this should stop. The springs will then ‘set’.

Please note: Information on this page is an advice. Since every washing machine is different and has different washing programs, we cannot be held responsible for washing errors and/or damage that occurs while following the advice below. It remains important: never wash your beautiful clothes too often.
Step One
Before washing your garment, it is important to look carefully at the care labels. These are located on the inside of your garment. There are so many care labels that you may not know exactly what which label means. That is why we give you an explanation at the bottom of this page.
Step Two
When you know how to treat your item, you can get started. Here is some important information before you get started.
Colors
It is essential that you wash color with color and white with white. If you wash colored clothes with black clothes, there is a good chance that your colored clothes will get a gray glow. So always make sure that you have three types of combinations: a white wash, a variegated/colored wash and a black wash.
Vinegar
Would you like to keep the color good? Wash your pants or dress with a dash of (clothing) vinegar, which ensures that the color stays in the product. It is also advisable to wash your items inside out.
Materials
Finally, the method of washing depends on the type of fabric your garment is made of. Here is an explanation of materials with the corresponding washing methods, from AZ.
T-shirt with print
We recommend washing clothes inside out at a maximum of 30 degrees. Do not use detergent containing bleach and do not put the clothes in the dryer. Never iron directly on the print, and do not steam it.

Acetate / Triacetate
You can wash your garment on hand wash or machine wash up to 30 degrees. Always check the care label for this. Ironing is not necessary. If you still want to iron, do it at a low temperature.
Acrylic
This material can be washed at a low temperature, preferably no higher than 30 degrees. Let the product dry flat. We do not recommend ironing these products, if you do, then at the lowest possible temperature. Was your acrylic too hot? Then it loses its elasticity.
Fur
Fur requires special handling. We therefore recommend that you have your fur clothing cleaned by a specialist.
Denim
Do not wash your denim items too often and when you wash them, at a low temperature and inside out. Then let the product dry flat. Frequent washing will not make your garment more beautiful.
Elastane (Spandex)
It is best to wash products with this material according to the washing instructions for the other fibers – as the clothing often contains only a small hint of elastane.
Cotton
The fabric tends to shrink in the wash. Therefore, do not wash your cotton items higher than 30 degrees. For new products, make sure you wash them separately. Cotton sometimes gives off during the first wash. You can iron cotton damp up to 200 degrees.
Leatherette / Polyurethane
This product requires little maintenance and is easy to clean. You can wash the product by hand in lukewarm water.
Elastane (Spandex)
It is best to wash products with this material according to the washing instructions for the other fibers – as the clothing often contains only a small hint of elastane.
Leather and Suede
Impregnate your leather items before wearing to protect against dirt and moisture. Take care of your product regularly to keep it nice and smooth. Do not let these products dry at a hot source, this will cause the leather to tear.
Linen
Preferably do not wash the item higher than 30 degrees, because this fabric shrinks quickly. Linen is a fabric that dries quickly, but can also be ironed.
Polyamide/Nylon
We recommend that you do not wash nylon products at a higher than 30 degrees. Ironing can be done at a low temperature. You do not have to put products with this material in the dryer, it dries very quickly.
Polyester
This fabric can be washed up to a temperature of 50 degrees. We recommend washing the clothes inside out to avoid pills. Ironing of these products is often not necessary.
Satin
You can wash your garment at 40 degrees. Then dry the product in the dryer for the best result. Allowing the item to dry wet will not benefit your product.
Viscose
Products made of viscose can be washed at a low temperature, as this fabric shrinks quickly. Separate the clothes for the first wash to prevent discoloration. We do not recommend putting products with viscose in the dryer. Let it air dry. The fabric wrinkles quickly and can therefore be ironed.
Wool
Wool should be washed very carefully. This material can shrink in the wash. Therefore wash your woolen items on a cold hand wash or take your woolen item to the dry cleaner. Be careful when drying wool. Lay your clothes flat on, for example, a towel. Do you hang the item or wring it dry? Then it loses its shape.
Silk
Preferably hand wash your silk clothes without a spin cycle. The fabric is very fragile. We recommend that you do this in a separate wash, especially for the first washes. Apply the product flat in the shade.

Pills
Pills are created when your clothes are worn and washed because they rub against each other. This happens with clothing that consists of woolly, voluminous fabrics. This has nothing to do with the quality of your clothes. How to treat? You can maintain your clothes with a pill device or pill comb. How do you avoid pills? Wash your clothes on wool wax and do not wash them together with sharp objects. Use water up to 30 degrees and let the item dry flat and never put it in the dryer.
Discolor
When your clothes discolour from the wash, unfortunately there is nothing you can do about this. These items have then been washed too hot. How do you prevent discoloration? First, make sure you distribute the laundry well. Color by color and white by white. Do not use a washing program that is too hot and wash your clothes inside out. In addition, it is advisable to use clothing vinegar or to use a color cloth.
Shrunk
Everyone’s nightmare. Your clothes will shrink from the wash. Unfortunately, this is also an irreversible situation. The clothes have been washed too hot. How do you prevent shrinkage? It is advisable never to wash your clothes too hot and not to put them in the dryer for too long and too hot. Always read the care labels carefully and preferably never wash higher than 30 degrees.
Distorted/stretched
Has your garment stretched after washing? Then unfortunately this cannot be restored. The garment has either been washed too hot or hung out too wet. As a result, the fibers are damaged and stretched and unfortunately do not return to their original shape. How do you prevent distortion? Always read the care labels carefully. Here you can see how to let the item dry. With woolen sweaters, for example, it is advisable to let them dry flat on a towel. If you hang it out, the sweater will stretch due to the weight.
